When choosing colors for a logo that will be used with a corporate target audience, go for a palette that fits in but stands out at the same time. My client, Alex Dail of RightMoves, sums it up perfectly:

I want the colors to fit within corporate culture, but just. Put another way I like that my logo is distinctive, but I am thinking it may be a good idea to have a slight distinction in the colors to so it grabs the eye. Stated differently, I would like the color choice to separate me slightly from the pack, but within the bounds of acceptability.
